- Risks: prior abdominal or pelvic surgery, neoplasm, hernia, abscess
- Sx: bilious vomiting, abdominal pain
- PE: possibly high-pitched bowel sounds
- Dx: X-ray with dilated bowel, air-fluid levels, a stack of coins or string of pearls sign
- Diagnosis is made by imaging, most often with CT
- Tx: NPO, IVF, possible NG tube, surgery
